Lauren Howard, LCPC, CADC

I graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and received my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in child and adolescent counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I also have received specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) by Behavioral Tech, LLC.  I am currently a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in the state of Illinois.

My background experience includes working in an emergency housing program, and inpatient setting at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, a psychosocial rehabilitation program for the chronic mentally ill at The Anixter Center, and an outpatient behavioral health setting providing individual, and group therapy with women battling addictions. Lastly, I worked at The Child, Adolescent, and Family Recovery Center Intensive Out-Patient Program for adolescents and young adults that help teens and their parents address maladaptive, self-destructive behaviors while utilizing the DBT approach among other modalities.

My primary goal is to help clients find the hope, courage to change, and heal. I believe that all life circumstances, relationships, and experiences can lead to growth, learning, and greater self-acceptance.

I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families.  Specialties include: Anger Management; Anxiety; ADHD; Adjustment Disorders; Self-Injury and other Self-Destructive Behaviors; Eating Disorders; Mood Disorders; Personality Traits; Psychotic Disorders; Self Esteem/Body-Image Issues; and Substance Abuse.

Day, afternoon and evening hours are available. I am also available to provide discounts and sliding scale fees for those with financial needs.
